I am trying to find information on basic business plan development and also looking for specialized information. I want the studio to perform two functions one: to provide me with a studio in which to do my own sculpture. two: to provide a place for me to teach classes with which to support my work and keep the studio running as I try to establish myself further in the art world, with the idea that I will able to stop teaching and just focus on my own work.

Should I get loans? Will some one even give me a loan in this economy for an art based business? Do I need backers? Should I use grant funding and go the nonprofit route?

Are there any visual artists out there who can give me some suggestions?
