Hi Randy, I just want to know how I could help you aside from monetary donation? So I can also share something in your goal to help the needy.
COMMENT

Thanks for the question Arsenia,
While monetary support is critical in our humanitarian relief operations, there are several other areas where we could really use some help. Without going into too much detail here, a significant portion of what we do uses telemedicine. Think of telemedicine as web based video teleconferencing with numerous medical peripheral devices attached (e.g. 12 lead EKG, digital stethoscopes, etc.).
In these same systems we also integrate disaster management, disease monitoring and patient database applications. As such we are also in need of software programmers or engineers to donate their time and expertise.
I could also ALWAYS use a good contact or two in Manila who have laptops, wireless web access and a heart to go visit areas of need periodically (helping me with needs assessments). Linking back to our support network here, sharing reports and live visuals of needs there would help tremendously in helping us to gain more support for future efforts there.
As a quick for instance:
I have established such a connection in Zamboanga City. Likeiwise doctors in rural clinics there have been sharing needs reports we us here
(see http://www.disasterlogistics.org/?page_id=120).
This report, which I recently posted to our web site, was seen by a foundation here in the states. I am VERY happy to say they have agreed to fund a large shipment of medical equipment to that area. The shipment is valued at over 1 million dollars and includes badly needed equipment. The equipment is donated by hospitals here, the foundation is paying the $13,000 it takes to get it to Manila, through customs and then on to Zamboanga City.
This will no doubt save many lives. It is all made possible by people working together to communicate need and "connect the dots" to people who have a heart to help. We focus on COMPLETE accountability of how every donation is spent. We also only support activities that I have personally visited so we can prove the "Ground Truth" and never allow ourselves to be victims of unscrupulous people.
If you have a desire to help, I would be very pleased and will be happy to provide you additional information.
Randy
