I brought my daughter into my business world when she was 10. It sent her down a completely different path in her adult years than where she may have gone with typical school studies, given she was brought up in a military school on bases overseas.
Actually, it was her natural curiosity that caused her to want to be in biz like me, and I encouraged it. I've got a longer entry on this topic in my post in my group "NonProfits: Get Involved!" here:

I really think kids learn more, and retain more, when there is, what we have coined today, an "experiential" component to it.
