I am seriously bummed about the election results. Regardless of your politics, I need some help.

Icemann, just go with the flow. :-)
I'm with you. I live in California, where Prop 8 (which bans gay marriage) was approved after a very misleading campaign wrought by the Mormom church. I am sad and depressed. I wish I had done more than slap a sticker on my car agaqinst it. People are ignorant. Many said "they'll teach homosexuality in schools!" (which tain't true) and did not bother to take the 30 seconds to READ THE WORDING. Crimeny. My heart is black today. What's WRONG with people? How can they be so cruel?

I understand, ice. It could have gone the other way and I would be in your shoes. Here's a couple thoughts that might help.
First, we all know the state of the union at the moment. Four years aint that long, and at the end of it we'll have a clear picture how well the new administration has done. Thumbs up or thumbs down. It is a gamble, sure, but we'll know in time.
Second, regardless of politics, it is something to be proud of for the country, that a mixed-race guy from meager beginnings can make it to the top. The rest of the world has surely taken note.
...hope that helps some...
I am blue for some reasons but hopefully and looking for growth in others. Regardless of your politcal party views I believe that you have to move forward and look out for your future and your goals.. we have seen some hard stuff and I believe it will still be difficult but I think this will end up being a very good growth for our country.
Thanks for the posts. I had open enrollment this week; I took the opportunity to make some moves to lower my taxable income and hide some money away, unless the Dems follow through with their nationalizing people's 401(k)s.
I've been bummed too. We can handle this. Let's remember who we are, all of it.
