I've mentioned before that my brother has melanoma. If not for a wonderful dr with a good heart,he'd be dead.
My mother-in-law died of melanoma,30yrs ago last month, from a birthmark,a cousin of my husband had it.My uncle and 2 cousins have had it.
My youngest daughter is 22.I remember when she was planning to go to the prom in h.s. talking her out of going to the tanning bed.I've been to the dr's with her twice,2 different dr's and I've brought it up,because she was talking about it again. Both dr's told her never to even go,once. With it on both sides of the family, don't even take the risk.
I don't know how many times over the summer she's gone,but I know it's alot.My brother w/melanoma has a daughter,20 who goes on a regular basis.
They don't listen. It scares the hell out of me and all I can do is hope they'll be some breakthrough in medicine before it turns on them
