What if Einstein was wrong, and Time is nothing more than the concept we use to mark change? Could the observed changes in the rate at which time passes, instead be the result of the rate at which physical processes occur as the speed at which we move through the universe changes? Would the result not be the same?
Of course, this raises other questions:
Would that conclusion require that there be some ether that we are moving through?
Would that require that there be some fixed point in the universe, in relationship to which, all other things move?
Does movement and speed have any practical or real meaning in absolutely empty space where no point of reference is available?
