Bruce's music has been a big part of my life. Since he burst on the rock scene like a comet in 1975 with his Born to Run album I have turned to his music to see me through good and bad times. He has also been a role model of mine of sorts because he has tirelessly championed the working class family and lent his time and energy to causes such as food banks, free speech, the unemployed, and the homeless.
Im 47 and grew up on the east coast. From Greetings from Asburry Park on, his music and lyrics have just meant so much to me. His word and stories are real. He tells of life the way I remember it. Not always pretty or kind. I remember long conversations about his lyrics. That tells you he means something. I could go on about his impact. Racin in the streets... its what i did. Candys Room is so dark and truthful. He's proud to be an American. Born to run is the greatest album EVER!
I was born and raised in Freehold NJ..Hometown of Bruce Springsteen. He is our hometown hero. I don't live there anymore..but you can take the girl out of Freehold, but you can't take the Freehold out of the girl.
