I'd like to start this discussion with an extremely concrete example. Two software developers from the 'left coast' who one afternoon at lunch, just couldn't take it any more. They were making a lot of money, but ... This wasn't what they signed on for. Something vital was missing.
I wrote this last night after watching this truly landmark production, and it's been published elsewhere. I hope it serves it's intended purpose. As I have stated several times before there is no compelling reason why we can't earn a decent living right here, online, in this place we have called cyberspace for too long. It's time to step forward and redefine our terms and to do it in a very real and meaningful way. To actively & consciously engage ourselves in the careers of others.

For all you out there that have been asking, " How do we make any money on the internet ? " Here are more than a few answers, and in very graphic audio & video enhanced form.
This production was so incredible on so many levels, It's truly difficult to know where to begin. Two software engineeers, working in tiny cubicles on the left coast decide, collectively, to walk off the job, cash in their chips and ride a Segway from Washington State to Boston Massachusetts at 10 MPH It is certainly a story of team work, as minimally four people worked and traveled for just over ninety-six days supporting one another literally and figuratively, while shooting over two-hundred hours of footage. They wrote it, directed it, and produced it themselves, more or less on-the-fly. The motion picture itself documents the ups and downs of this incredible journey along with all the trials & tribulations of pulling it off.
No holes are barred in their depiction of the trials and tribulations of such a production. The whole saga unfolds before your very eyes and you will be hard-pressed to step away from your screen.
And as if this were not enough, they not only produced it themselves, but they are distributing it themselves as well, using a radical new "What do you want to pay for it' and 'How would you like it delivered' model. Available for download on this site there is also a complete DIY ( Do It Yourself ) manual. At the time of this writing, that was the only hot link on the page not working. I am assured this will be retified as fast as they can get to it. ( I was just told that the 26 page manual is now available ).
By the way- They also built their own website, and answer their own mail. Does any one out there have any ideas? Call me.
