Top 100 Sci-Fi Films

I'm pretty sure that the reason I'm not married is that I've been busy watching practically every film on this list (and more) during the past 20 years.

Well, that and I expect her to want to go to Star Trek conventions with me, but that's another story.

This is a pretty remarkable list, and even if you're not a sci-fi fan, I think you could do a lot worse while wandering around Blockbuster on a Saturday night.

Buckaroo Banzai at Number 99? That's just wrong. Wrong!

But another favorite Rocky Horror Picture Show made it in, so I am very happy about that.

Independence Day is my personal favorite -it has every great tear jerking sci scene in the world, and keeps on going past very possible ending, while the close second is Signs - just lovely. I can't believe it's not on the list.

Armageddon is just a "big head" movie, as far as I can tell... :-)

Hey now! Don't be denying your Inner Nerd! It's dangerous and unhealthy.

Break out the costume, the pointed ears and the phasers, baby.

Austin is a VERY cool place so I am sure there is a Star Trek fan club there, along with assorted conventions.

Be brave! Boldly go where you have not gone before! :)

Do I dare admit that I've actually seen most of the films on the list? I also confess that I've never been a Star Wars fan. In fact, I haven't even seen the last one.

One of my very favorite SF films never seems to make any list--Quiet Earth. It's from New Zealand, and was recently released in a deluxe DVD edition. Very much worth checking out.
