Earlier this year I got a statement from my mortgage company stating that I would receive a credit for my overage (Is that really a word?) in my escrow account. Apparently my taxes did not increase. (whee!)
Anyway, and Thank You City Tax God, I got a small refund back in May.
Earlier this week I get another Escrow statement. My loan payment will remain the same as quoted to me in the May statement. However, I have an Escrow indebtedness of 4 cents.
They enclosed a payment coupon.
Yes. I wrote a check for .04 or --------o4/100ths to CitiMorrtgage.
Yes, while writing the fun 4 cent check, I made an error during the frenzy and paranoia. Ripped up that 5 cent check. Then I re-wrote it and put it in the envelope with the 42 (Is it really 42 cents??) envelope.
I hate to say this, but I bet the bank reads it as $4.00. Pray for me.
