Christians in very generation have thought the world would end in their lifetime. I know that natural disasters and wars have been going on since the beginning of time. I also realize that with instant media coverage there can be an appearance that these events are happening more frequently and with more ferocity than at any previous point in time . . . but are they? It sure seems as if they are. I wonder how close we really are. And how do you pray for the end of the world. There is to be such devastation, fear, death, pain . . . I understand the end goal is heaven, but I find it difficult to pray for the end of the world to come when I know what the process of ending the world will bring. I don't want my children to go through that! (And . . . let me make this point clear, because it DOES make a difference in how you view the end of the world . . . I was raised in a post-tribulation rapture denomination, so I don't necessarily believe that the righteous will be taken up PRIOR to the tribulation).
What are your thoughts?
