I am sorry you have had some bad encounters along lifes highway.

But please understand, the Old Testament is more then just good reading. It still has significance for to day also.

Jesus stated, "He came to fulfill the law, not destroy it." There is no "Jesus" law. And it is not harder, but so much more easier then the strictness of the old law. Now we no longer need to sacrifice animals, we have the only sacrifice for our sins, Jesus Christ. We are under His grace, but that doesn't giv e us a right to live as we please and think God is going to pat us on the back. Paul had a lot to say about our walk with God. Ro.6:1-Do we go on sinning that grace shall abound? God forbid!..

I am a student of the His word, in real life and do my best with His help to walk it daily. Do I always succeed? No, even I have my days of, faults and failures. But i also know if in my heart I seek His forgiveness, He will forgive me. I make no excuses for my times of failure. The devil doesn't make me do anything my heart doesn't already desire.

As for your falling through the cracks. You can never fall so far that God cannot rescue you. You are making your choices on how you wish to live. My prayer would be to offer you the only way out, Jesus. Agree or disagree, it is the only way. As I have told many who wish to disagree with me, "I won't argue the word or God's plan of salvation, because in the end only one of us will be right."

I am not condemning you in any means, thats not my place. But I do know what I am talking about, and study it daily. I am not a religious person, I am a follower of our Lord God and His Son Jesus Christ. And have been for most of my life, except the times I too fell through the cracks.

I know so many believe different things, and we have to wade through so much man made barriers, but don't discount the Old Testament as not relevent. The whole word is relevent. The New Testamnet just gives us a better way to God, and enjoying life without all the pressure of old. Trust me, when you really study the history of the word and the Biblical times as they are referred to, it is much easier today then then.

From one crack faller to another, God is still right there ready to pull you out whenever you are ready. I was, He did, and thats that...

are you new here? i don't remember you, but i haven't been here that long myself.

seems you have a burr under your saddle this afternoon. i think Michael makes some good points. Maybe you should ask the Lord to show you if you have misunderstood about the Old Testament. I know i've done that many a time, and He never fails to let me know one way or the other.

anyhow...i hope we can agree that Jesus is the only answer to our hopeless predicrament of sin. and I should know - i've been between the cracks plenty. :9)

when i was 9 yrs old i became a member of Jesus doctrine. . when i returned home. my grand mother sat me up on her lap and said "you feel different now don't you.." and i thought, how do you know. my answer was yes. and she said 'cause you are saved. what i'm trying to say is... because of the blood we don't have to live the old testament. it is the blood.. not moses. now.. i'm not saying my grandma said i was saved, i was. i new i was.. now the blood will never loose it's power. not moses but the blood. if you believe anything that moses taught. then you in error. and God will hold us accountable for that. 'cause he knows we have better sense. and no burr in my saddle. just opinion like yours mam. and have a great day.

Jesus is able that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory.

Three critical Scriptures are:

I stand on the complete Word of God.

I'm trying to follow your train of thought but can't--don't understand the 'not Moses but the blood,' and stuff. I guess every believer has a perspective on things, but I try to be open, realizing if I can't understand Algebra I probably can't fully understand infinite wisdom either. BUT, if I may, MY 'cliff's notes' on the thing:

- Jesus didn't teach Christianity or Catholicism.He preached Judaism, read from the Torah, and quoted what would be the Old Testament to make his points. He made it current with his life, making what would be called a new covenant with believers, which would then include non-Jews. Surely the author of a book [or the author's hand-picked spokesperson]--could amplify or extend what had been revealed earlier, no? I don't see that as turning things upside down.

-The 'lust in the heart' and similar items you spoke of simply show us how hard it is to attain perfection, hence, the necessity to humble ourselves before God. You see disappointment in that but I'm seeing HOPE. Maybe I'm the fool, I dunno. I'd like to discuss or help more but I'm not understanding exactly the points you're making, sorry.

Thank you, Editor. Well, I try, but realize I fall way short. I just hate to see people stymied or clinging to perspectives that limit the hope that we have through God. It's clear Punkinface has spent time trying to reason this through. I'd like to help her--as many here would as well, I'm sure.
