Half your food and ask for a doggie bag as soon as your meal arrives eating out.

Discuss: Would you agree that portions are too large in a restaurant? Do you ever do this?

We pretty much avoid the chain restaurants that serve huge portions, but I have done the half visual on my plate at times (only eat half). I prefer really good tasting food and enjoy the restaurants in Seattle--quality over quantity.

I rarely eat out. I am not self-disciplined and I don't have the common sense yet in this area to take my own advice---so avoidance is how I handle this tip.
