eltee Posted: Sep 30, 08 3:35am Well good morning my TBD prayer buddies! You are all so close to my heart today. Ann, wow, thank you for your prayer vigilance, it is commendable to remain anonomous and still do God's work. The meek shall inherit the earth! I've said it before and I'll say it again; JESUS, JESUS, JESUS! Have a great day all. Feel better, Gayle. xo LT :-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ onfireforjc7 Posted: Sep 30, 08 2:27pm Hi all. A cool day in WI. A bit cloudy too. Temps in the 40's later tonight. It is fall..... I am concerned with the USA bailout/rescue with our economy. Please continue to pray for our congress reps and the President. Do we want to burden our great- grandchildren with this debt? Pray for God's wisdom on these matters. Have a blessed day.

gayle Posted: Sep 30, 08 8:16pm Welcome Ann. I hope you like it here, it's a very comfortable, friendly, safe, and warm place. Onfire - Trust me that many Canadians are praying about how the economy gets handled in the U.S., also about your election, and it's candidates, what happens there has world wide ramifications. Canada had some non-banking companies that had that asset backed commercial paper, who ran into the same problems with no one wanting to loan them money to roll them over. It was discovered earlier here, and the government here pressured the banks into bailing those companies out, even though the banks weren't involved, it happened this summer. Our banks are much more regulated than yours, so the banks here didn't invest in them knowingly. They did get hit for some, that turned out to be in funds they invested in, and for the most part have already written off their losses. A couple of them have a bit more to write off later this year. We will still be hit with the credit crunch, the whole world will, since the banking industry is global. We are the U.S.'s major trade partner, and are the U.S.'s number one source of imported oil, so you can see how much Canadians care about what happens in the U.S. Our prayers continue for your whole country, it's economy, it's future. Cinder enjoy your time with your grandbaby. I wish I'd gotten to have kids, I'd always wanted them. I like to hear about people's kids, and grandkids, to share part of someone else's life. editor as always words of wisdom fall from your fingertips. LT I am sorry that work is still a stressful place. I pray that God leads you to where you should be. Al I was right, you add to the group, thanks for joining us. I am feeling much better today. I saw my doctor, and we've decided since there's no sign of infection, in my ears, or throat, that it was caused by changes in weather, pretty normal for me. The fever's gone down. We also discussed my feet, I don't need more meds., but do have to get special compression stockings for diabetics. Thank you all for praying for my health. Welcome Ann. cinder Posted: Oct 1, 08 12:26am Hello and welcome Ann, from me too. I'm glad you are here. I was out walking this morning and decided to walk to a public park about 1.5 miles from my house. there is a nature area that i wanted to walk in. i was praying as i walked and then just told God I wanted to be quiet and hear Him if He would be pleased to speak to me. I walked along and went down a rather overgrown path that went by a creek. suddenly ahead of me on the path i could see a red grocery basket sitting to the side of the path. i had the distinct impression to turn around and go back. i turned around and just heard 'run'. i ran all the way back to the clearing and walked quickly out of the park and back home. i don't know if there was any danger, but i felt God was showing me, when He says to turn around, I should turn around immediately - that it's important to do that. seems a basic thing, but how many times in my life have i ignored that 'warning' that I have felt pressing on my heart, and forged ahead to my own spiritual peril? too many, i'm afraid. anyhow, i will try and remember this experience. gayle, i'm sorry you haven't been feeling well, running a fever, etc. i always feel really terrible when i have the slightest fever. i am up right now because of pain in my leg, sciatica stuff. but it's nothing compared to what so many walk through daily, so i will thank God for my health. onfire, i am praying about the financial situation in our country as well. i am concerned, but not worried. eltee, did you ever sell your house and move? sorry if you have already told this. i know at one time you were looking at doing that, but don't remember if you did it. we keep thinking about selling our house and moving out to the country, building a smaller place, and perhaps a studio/showroom. i've gotten awfully settled here and would feel very strange somewhere else. i wish nancy would come back. i feel badly that i didn't return her hug that she sent me on sept. 18. i never check those vibe things and if i do see them, i'm afraid i don't reciprocate. it's nothing personal. they seem like cartoons to me, and i don't relate to them. nancy, if you are reading this, please know that i didn't mean to hurt your feelings. i love you very dearly and am praying for you. please come back!! ed, you are right, one little angel girl. but now we have a little angel boy on the way! i hope all is well with your own family. i guess it's officially october! blessings you guys.
Thanks for getting October started, editor! Have a great day everyone!!
Yes angel baby girls and boys. The light of the world they are. So glad you cherish them! That's what it's all about. No, I did not ever sell my place. I reworked my finances into a more manageable place, however, it is still a large financial burden on me being alone. I cannot or won't complain. I always seem to make my obligations somehow. I just know it is a terrible time to put my place on the market. There is so much inventory all around me right now. I would more than likely take a loss if I did and since I'm only here a year and a half, it doesn't seem like a solid decision for me since I do have the resources to hold on for now. I just keep my eye out for what's going on around me and continue to try to make secure investments and decisions with my money. I took 80% of my money out of the stock market over a year ago. It was a prudent idea at the time and possibly risky toward my future, but I firmly believed that the events happening around me (mortgage foreclosures, credit tightening, etc.) didn't add up to the stock market continuing to hit record numbers. Now I just pray that the bond investments I chose are still safe. Who knows at this point? I've never seen anything like this and I don't think anyone else has either. Have a good day! xo LT :-)
Hello All,
Ann welcome to the group. I am new myself. This group has welcomed me with open arms and I have found new friends, prayer partners, and a real love of God. This week, I ask that we all reach out to someone today. Open your phone book and call someone that you haven’t talked to in a while. Just to say hello. May God bless us all and put his hands on the leaders of our countries and help them make the right decision to lead us in the proper direction in the name of Jesus.
Welcome Ann. Hi all. We had a prophet named Tom Stammen preach at our church last night. He has built and runs several orphanages in about 20 countries.
Feeding and educating the orphans is his mission. My 3 children were orphans in the Philipines before we adopted them.
Thank you Jesus that people supported these children until we could adopt them.
God will honor all who support orphans with their $$$ and prayers.
LT I am sure your decision to leave the stock market was wise, as is your reworking your mortgage, and not trying to sell at this time. I will continue praying that you are lead to the path God wants you to follow. I pray that everyone here gets through this financially challenging time.
Al thank you for the idea to call someone today, we haven't talked to in a while. I plan on doing that tonight.
editor thanks for starting this month's new thread.
I am feeling much better now. My feet are a bit swollen today, so I am following the elevation recommendation, so I won't be on my computer long. I hope you are all having a good week.
Oh I want to ask for prayers for all Canadians, tonight is the French debate between the major party leaders in our election, tomorrow is the English debate. Our advance polls are open on the 3rd, 4th, and 6th, and the general election is on the 14th. So many people are now making their final decision of who to vote for, may we be led to the right choice. We will know the night of the 14th if we will have a new party in government, or the same one. We've had since Sept. 7th to decide, our election was only announced then, we weren't supposed to have one until next Sept. but the current government, a minority one, said nothing could be accomplished by this government, since the other parties vote down most proposals.
Good morning, Judi, Lt, onfire, Al and Gayle!
Judi, being the first to respond to our new thread re-enforces continual reminders that each of us cannot be here everyday but we lovingly care and pray and think of others on CbC.
Al, thanks for reminding us that we serve Jesus! Mat 25:35 When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me,
Mat 25:36 and when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me." Thank you all that serve the Lord, expecting nothing in return but His joy as we do.
Lt, my husband was blessed with the gift of financial stewardship way before he realized it. Fortunately, we both have always had the gift of poverty, enabling us to give to God first and trusting God to return to us just what is necessary for our daily needs. May you continue to make secure and sound investments by talking over each decision with God in prayer. DH and I both see dire economic history being made (as in the Depression) and are responding by being responsible in all our decisions so that God will be glorified and no unnecessary worry or blame be cast upon Him!
Onfire, thank You for letting us know that God has placed on your heart to care for orphans and for sending financial aid to the fatherless in their affliction. You "adopted" 3! Thank You, JESUS, JESUS, JESUS!
Gayle, continuing prayers for Your country, Canada, and your voice making it known that we Americans do not hold exclusive rights and privileges on God's green earth, and that this election is critical also. A very happy, praise the Lord, that you are feeling better now, and we continue to pray for your edema. Also a special note of recognition that you remain faithful in our community prayer thread.
On earth, as it is in Heaven, there can be no greater joy than realizing that God's will is being accomplished in the little as well as in the big things.
