What's The Special Blessing

When I get in my car every morning, I listen to 107.9 FM here in Los Angeles,CA. It's a great Christian channel. I caught the end of the first pastors sermon and he said something about, when you study and understand the book of Revelations, GOD gives you a

'Special Blessing'. Does anyone know what he was talking about. I have never heard of this before. I am still growing in the word of GOD

Hey Ann, I don't know nearly as much as I should about the bible, but I just found this quote online stating the same thing.

Jesus promised a blessing to all those who read, hear and keep those things written in Revelation. He also promised a curse on all those who add to, or take away from it.

IMHO the only "blessing" to come from reading Revelation is the standard blessing of knowing more of God's word, His character, and something of history at the time of its writing.

The Bible isn't a "magic book" and (more IMHO) God doesn't automatically hand out blessings like gumballs down a chute.

Dear Ann, The short answer is No, I have never heard of a special blessing.

Hear the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

When the Spirit by the Apostle says "all" He means ALL, without exception - no specialities here.

I hear many preachers, who feel they have to come up with something new and different, say various things which do NOT appear in the Word of God.

I am very impressed by your devotion to the things of God, Ann, you will never go far wrong when you pursue Himself and His will.

I've studied the book of Revelation....I took a class on it in fact. (I have a degree in religion.) I can't say I received any "special blessing" after finishing the class. I also can't say I particularly understand Revelation any more than I did before the class. And finally, I can't say in all my studies for my degree that I ever heard of receiving any kind of "special blessing" connected with the book of Revelation, or any other book of the Bible.

Thank you all for clearing that up for me.. I have read the Bible over and over and over. And, I had never heard of this "Special Blessing".

I know that there is MUCH to learn no matter how many times I read it, so there will be more questions to come..

Ann, the man that said that was probably trying to sell a book he has written about Revelations. Not sure though.
