I was on a horse when I could sit up. We had a wonderful dun named "Buck". I began riding completely on my own at 9. I had a Welsh pony, "April". In my teens, I got a buckskin "Thunder". Her quarterhorse registered name was Sandra Faye. ugh. Then I moved away to college and to the city. My parents kept several ridable horses around for us. "Bean" was an app that came off the sequicentennial wagon train that came through town. "Star" was a black horse with a white star on her face. and so on... A few years ago I left the city and got some land adjoining my parents' land and now have horses again. We have three at present, the one I ride the most is an '85 model Palomino "Cowboy". 15.5 hands. Old ranch cowboy horse. Very good horse. Tad barn sour but not bad. At his age, I understand. When it's cold and there's a fire in the fireplace and stew on the burners, I'm a tad barnsour myself. I love riding through fog through the pasture and around the small lake we have. Across the damn, down through the forested areas. We scare up white tail, mule deer, turkeys and the other day had a curious skunk follow us around. Thank goodness he found us intriguing and not exciting!!

I no longer have this horse, his name was "Hamlet" (theatre teacher)
