I agree that if there is any time to be late, it is to your own funeral. Arguably, they shouldn't even plan the occasion until you arrive!

If it wears on you to be late, try leaving a half hour before you need to. By the time you actually leave, you'll probably make it on-time.

It is an uncomfortable feeling running behind... sometimes, being late starting the day can put you behind the entire day. If you do a little planning, you can avoid traffic, get your stuff done, and have a sense of accomplishment.

I went through a phase a few years back where it seemed I was always running behind. Although I called people to let them know, I didn't like the stress of running late. Some appointments have a set time (e.g., 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.) and if you show up at 12:15, you get 45 minutes instead of an hour. My doctor's office will have people reschedule if they are 15 minutes late (never mind that sometimes you might wait for the doctor for an hour). But the bottom line is respect for other people's schedules, and respect for your own schedule, as well as desire for a sense of peace and accomplishment.

One can be late for ones' funeral.....It is an invitation that is guaranteed.
