if you want to amaze your kids and friends, try this tried and true cub scout camp out recipe. crack a couple eggs into a small paper bag, add a couple strips of bacon, close it up and put it directly into the fire. the bacon sizzles and bastes the eggs. it's quite tasty! you'd think the bag would burn, but the food cooking keeps the bag from catching on fire.

Omelets. Use a plastic baggie, add scrambled eggs, ingredients you'd like then put bag in boiling water for a few minutes or until egg appears done.

You can reuse the bag if you'd like and there is no plastic taste on the food.

I have to tell you, this sounds like a prank. I can already imagine me in the woods with my drippy bag of eggs and bacon on a fire. the family turns ugly and they spear me with forks.... really not funny guys.

The plastic bag omelets will work. We have annual brunches with work and make them every year this way. What would I have to gain by playing this kind of joke on you?

By the way...what is "car camping"?

car camping - when you pull up to a campground in the automobile, unload everything and pitch a camp in a place that has amenities like a picnic table, running water, out houses and metal grilles and stay over night. basically it is staying in a picnic area that allows overnight camping/parking

So how is that any different from those that use campgrounds that have those same anemities? I use them in my 5th wheel so does that make me a "trailer camper"? My truck would be offended to be ignored in that name. :)

Camping is camping. Tent, camper for ground. Fire, grill or propane gas stove. S'mores with marshmallows or white frosting...
