Yes, they are a finicky bunch. You never know what they want. Best advise is to just jump in and contact them and see what they can offer.

I prefer to remain obscure for the time being.I don't like "judging" other people's art,and I don't want anyone "judging" mine! Just relax & get lost in them for awhile.

I sense a new "Rennaisance" coming!

I have heard of these people,don't know any of them. I don't have much use for someone who wants a percentage of my profit. Ha ha, that is a joke, I've never made a profit! Here is what is working for me: Art Battle. I understand that they are growing in popularity, you might be able to Google for your area.

An Art Battle is a competition amongst artists with a time limitation( and a cash prize). I recently participated in one held at a local coffee shop. I did not win, but I made some contacts. Said contacts allowed me the opportunity to have a showing at an "Art Walk" in a neighboring community. Art Walk being where local business invite an artist to have a showing at their business. Several area businesses ban together(within walking distance from each other), and agree on time and date. Ours are done on the first Thursday of each month, 5:00 to 8:00. This also gives people who work from 9 to 5 a chance to shop stores that they otherwise might not.

You might try to organize such events. The galleries in my area love these events. This is the first time they have even spoken with me. And I just did it to challenge myself. I had no idea that anyone would take any notice!

Hope that this will give you some ideas. Do take that leap. You just need to find your "audience". If nothing else, you will meet some new people who might be able to point you in the right direction.
