You are not alone in having been alone in a marriage, and I think you will make plenty of friends here on TBD. I am much less alone as a single than I was as a married person.

Hi! I think been alone is much better, this way if you spend a lot of time on T.B.D. there is no one to yell at you.

I've been living alone for awhile now and it does have its ups and downs. But I'm not certain I want to be in a couple relationship again.

I know it sounds selfish but I do rather enjoy doing what I want, when I want or not doing a damn thing is also not bad.

Just have stuff to do that were only wishes before.

Dave, you hit it on the head! I was alone for 18 years of marriage and miserable. I've now been happily single for 18 years, and it has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have been able to grow and become the person I was meant to be, and no longer have to mold my thoughts and actions around someone elses. There are few things better than coming home in the evening after a long day at work, being greeted with unconditional love by my puppies, and being able to put on my jammies, prop up my feet and do whatever I want to do!

Maybe it is selfish, but I just want to spend the rest of my life concentrating on me -- my feelings, my needs, my life. There's certainly room for friends and family, but I'm going to be number one on my list from now on!
