Oh, I love this one - I'm getting ready for work but I just had to comment on this one - I think we have Dynasty to thank for the shoulder pads - remember Crystal Carrington?!?! You made me LOL with this memory...thanks!

in high school, getting a perm was the cool thing.

I already had wavy, thick curlish hair. What a moptop it turned into!

Shoulder pads made me look like a soldier.

I remember those shoulder pads! I cut them out and used them as pushup pads in my bra.

Straight legged jeans were my enemy. Some were so tight at the ankle that I had to sit down to take them off - my big feet would get stuck in them.

I don't know if anyone will remember these but here goes - back when I was in I guess junior high, which would have been in the 70s, I had a really really shiny jacket - I guess it was polyester satin (sounds so attractive now doesn't it), I think it was a zipper, anyway, I had a pink one and my two best friends had a red one and a blue one...they were hideous, I remember my mom saying she couldn't believe that I wanted one but I thought I was hott in that jacket... I don't even think they lasted more than a year, that's how bad they were...anyone remember these?

Oh, yeah, baby! I had a pink one! It was fitted at the waist and the wrists. I think mine snapped up the front, rather than a zipper. Can't remember for certain. I think they called them baseball jackets, but they were specifically made for girls.

Stirrup pants;

Feathered hair;

Dark outline lipliner (in a noticeably darker shade than the lipstick color)

French pedicures (that just skeeves me.... no problem with French manicures, but pedicures--the toenails are just freakishly long)

Whale tails (where you can see the top of the thong underwear above the low-cut pants)

I know this seems "in" for some reason..Black shoes with white pants or skirts. Boy, do I hate this..

2. I remember reading this in Cosmo magazine when I was a little kid.." Do not bare your midrift, if your midrift is too much to bare." 'Nuff said.

3. Back fat. Your bra is too tight, okay? It looks like you have boobs in the front AND the back. Now go change!

4.You're too old for that! Everyone is different, I am very young looking and acting for my age. That doesn't mean I should wear the same clothes that the high school girls are wearing. You can mix it up. Try ONE trend at a time. Don't forget that the legs are the last to go, either.
