We have all heard it: "You can do anything you set your mind to." No, you can't. If you believe that, you will waste time at best and actually harm yourself at worst.
Achieving all but the most trivial goals requires three things: 1) Talent 2) Training 3) Tenacity . The percentage of each may vary among competitors, but all three have to be there. Boy's basketball illustrates the point.
Lots of boys want to play basketball. They even practice like crazy. However, if they lack the minimum necessary natural speed, power and agility, no amount of training and tenacity is going to get them on the varsity team.
Taking off on some career quest just because it's always been a dream is stupid if you do not have the minimum talent required. Get an expert evaluation of your natural talent first.
