Holosync is great. I don't use it everytime I meditate but find it very helpful when I do.

Meditation is one of the four pillars of purposeful life.

It supports the other three and when you work all 4 change occurs. Doing only one is great but the transformations may be slight. The other 3 are relationships (without personal conflict) body/diet/energy and proficiency (to a degree you are comfortable with) in the marketplace (money/career etc).

Did you know that meditation does not cure depression, in fact, it can make it worse. The reason (to put if very simply) is that in meditation we train our attention to disconnect from all objects in awareness, including of course the causes of our depression.

I have been a Zen practitioner since the late 90's and I stumbled on Holosync a few months ago. It turns out some other people I know had been using it and they gave it a big thumbs up. So I took the plunge and purchased the first module.

Let me tell you that having only worked with the technology for a few months, there is really something to it. I have been able to get to some profound levels of Samadhi by combining the Holosync with my normal meditation routine.

I have also found it very useful if you do any sort of visualization practice because it runs in the background and doesn't distract from the visualization.

I meditate as well with the holosync, and I also use it for studying and reading. Depending on what I am doing I change the theme!!

And it is interesting that you John mention Zen, because my Zen Teacher Genpo Roshi suggested to use it!!

May I ask you where do you teach meditation?? I just red it in your profile and I have curiosity.

I teach meditation in Michigan. I run a group in Royal Oak that does Mindfulness/Vipassana training, I work with some Psych Prof's at a local community collage where I run the students through a course in Mindfulness meditation and I also work in my local community parks and rec dept to teach a version of Vipassana. Anything connected with the municipalities I have to make things very non-sectarian which is why Mindfulness works so well.

Does anyone else have experience with Holosync? Given that there are no meditation classes or teachers around here, and I could use some help, would this be a worth program. It does sounds a little gimmicky. Perhaps someone experienced in meditation could offer suggestions.

In order to meditate you do not need too much. Just sit, on cushion or a chair, depending what it suits better to you, your eyes should be closed or partially open, your back should be straight but no as if you were in the army, and the most important thing, do not move: At the beginning you cannot manage the movement of your man, but you can manage your body, so you are saying to the ego, I am the boss now.

The Holosync we use is for the Delta waves and emertion, I am not sure who is the author, but you can find many brands and Holsync kinds of CD in the market.

It helps, it is not manna, it doesn´t change your life, unless you do something about it, but it makes your meditation, at least at the beginning more pleasant and easy.

Hi Nani

You don't need any training for Holosync. It operates independent of any other technique because as Debora described the technology alters your brainwave patterns to move you thru alpha, then theta then to delta. You don't need to do anything other than listen with headphones.
