Hi all this is my first attempt at posting so please be patient.
Anyway here’s my question.
My son has just ,(with great jubilation),managed to get the grades he needed to go to one of the top sports Universities in the UK Hey ho! we should all be proud as punch an fine and dandy…and we are!
However 18 years ago this little ray of sunshine came into my life I have helped him grow develop learn, pick himself up from a fall, cry ,and have fun….and loved every minuet of it all.
Being a dad is one of the best things I ever did (I have 2 sons 18.14)
I new that one day he would fly the nest and in some ways had come to terms with it, Our relationship changed as he became a man and we have great mutual respect for each other and great love.
Anyway I thought I was just going to be able to shrug this off as oh its just another phase scenario but I am dreading him going…yes I can do the man thing and say oh well got to be done…so get on with it!!
But I will miss him so much and it’s the end of a chapter and the start of the next.
I am sure some of you out there have been through all this any tips on how to make it less painful …and smooth…
Rob
