Who is this no cash? They should ban these lyrics and ban the cd! what can we? should we protest? I will not let my children listen to this! No way you are right to be upset! Sit with your child and have a long talking to if that doesnt work take the ipod nano or computer away until he understands!!!

NO!!!!You are definitely not over reacting. It's NO WAY my child would have these lyrics on their browser window or anywhere else in the house. I already think that we give our children to much freedom. They are full of themselves. We go out of way to make sure that they are taking care of and they show us no respect. This world has gone MAD. Don't feel comfortable with "It's only a song" When your child gets angry at you all his/her negative energy is going to be about that song. Put your foot down....It's no way. I am sure that he/she could find something more positive to put on the browser window. Besides a song about "Killin Your Parents"

Boothby, this is my opinion only. I have discussed the lyrics of songs like this with my children in fact we've discussed many lyrics, films, video games, etc. and emphasized the difference between reality and nonreality.

My kids understand that these lyrics are metaphorical. When I was a teen we listened to songs about sex, drugs, "School being blown to pieces", "no more bricks in the wall" etc. This did not drive us to do these things. Those lyrics are an expression of exactly what teens are experiencing...leaving childhood and establishing their own identities.

Do your children understand that? I think they probably do.

If you truly have concern that they might take this literally than watch for other symptoms of behavioral problems. You know what to look for.

If you, as a parent, do not wish for your child to listen to such things around you, you have every right to ban them from it...this doesn't mean they won't listen elsewhere.

If they've been raised with a good sense of values, which I'm sure yours have, I don't think you need worry.

my one son was into all that blow em, pop em, kill, kill, etc. The more I re-acted the more he liked it. Finally I just did not act, I would say can you please turn the music down it's too loud. Or I like the beat but the lyrics have absolutly 0 creativity. He gave up that type of music within a year. We did go to the counselor during the rage period. This was my sons outlet for his anger. He is now so much more creative.

I disagree I believe some parents are the last ones to know at times when something is wrong with their children. columbine high school those two boys planned the ambush and parents were shocked. We as parents need to look and listen things have changed with the children nowadays they want to conform to what other people have and when they dont have the samething they get into their own little world. No I dont think the 60s & 70s children are the same as today to much preassure, to much jealousy. Did you hear that little girl that thought she was talking to a boy that liked her and it was a woman pretending to be a boy, she killed her self only 13 so dont always think your child is okay because when you least expect it, it may be to late.
