Cool, unclemike! I've always loved Pink Floyd, esp. their album,"Dark Side of the Moon"! & "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond"!

I lived down the raod from Pink Floyd and they used to rehearse in a hall/barn near the local pub. We used to sneak in and watch them. We had no idea then what they would became. I also love Genesis, to think Phil didn't want to be front man, he thought he couldn't sing. Good thing they persuaded him.

It all started with Davy Jones (yes, of the MONKEES), then Hermanns Hermits. But The WHO brought me through a couple of decades and still remains one of my top 5. Currently listening to some of the new Brit bands, The Fratellis, Little Man Tate, Arctic Monkeys, Lily Allen. More pop than classic rock but still a refreshing listen.

Thanks for all of these comments on past & current British rock/pop faves! I'm brave enough to admit that I saw Herman's Hermits @ age 14, & also Chad & Jeremy! At least I know that I was transformed by seeing live performances of: Jimi Hendrix, the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young,(who is Canadian, but still rocks on!), & Elton John! Currently, I LOVE Jack Johnson's mellow acoustic tunes, & don't know for sure, but suspect that he might be British!

I am currently listening to Fairport Convention when I'm driving in the car .
I had missed this group the first time around. I actually remember American music music before the British invasion and before rock and roll crushed the other musics.

Queen. Need I say more?

Queen. Need I say more?...

Yeah, Queen would have to be my all-time fave, as well. I mean, who can top the flamboyance of such gems as The Prophet Song, Millionaire's Waltz, Ogre Battle and Mustapha... just to name a few. And these were all from the 70's!
