I recently read a cool book "Laurel Canyon" (I would give you the author's name, but I left it in Denver for my nephew to read), anyway, it stated that the arrival of the Beatles came just about 3 months after JFK was assisinated and their arrival helped lift this counry out of a major non-economic depression.
I remember being in 5th grade when JFK was killed, but I didn't realize that the Beatles came so soon afterwards. I never saw them live, together, (I saw McCartney in '99 and Ringo in 2002) but I was as wrapped up in the hype and excitement as any bopper of the day. Soon, I started playing drums and eventually was in a series of bands throughout
jr. high, high school and college. God bless the Beatles and the bands they inspired.
