A group I ride with has a couple of people who use them but I have not tried one other than a stationary one. One guy took a spill and broke a couple of ribs but otherwise it has gone well for him.
I have a SWB that I built from a set of plans out of a couple of thrift-shop bikes. Nothing fancy, but it's given me a taste of what it's like to ride a bent. I don't like that there's no way for me to lift my butt off the seat for the bumps.
After the election, if I can "liberate" some of the loser's 4X8 corroplast signs, I'm gonna resurrect it as a streamliner. wanna try and hit 40MPH with it.

That sounds cool. have you got any pictures?
Yes, I have pictures.
When I find them (I have too many thumbies, CD, zip disks, etc.) I'll post them here.
To get an idea what I did, look up "No-Weld Recumbent"

OK...that looks interesting. How does it handle?
Kinda twitchy, not to the point where I'm afraid of it, but I'm sure not ready to scratch my butt and get a drink at the same time.
Here's those pix of it I promised, too.

That is a cool looking bike...but it looks like you need some padding on that seat.
