Life on a farm can be extremely entertaining at times. The highway department has been seal coating our road this week. Yesterday they spent hours with their sweepers, water-spraying trucks and flaggers cleaning up all of the loose rock. At one time, the flaggers had traffic stopped right next to our house. A line of cars filled with impatient people, all in a hurry to get someplace. A line of cars positioned along a 1/4 mile stretch of pasture where our heifers and bull were out enjoying the afternoon sun. A line of cars, who, when the bull decided to do his job and breed some heifers that apparently were in heat, had full view of the bull in action. My oldest son was cutting the hayfield across the road and he had to stop for a minute because he was laughing so hard that tears were running down his face and he couldn't see where he was going! He said it was so comical to watch the people when they realized what was going on right in front of them and that he wished he could hear the mothers explaining to their children what was going on and why the big bull was climbing on top of the smaller heifers.
Like I said, life on a farm can be extremely entertaining!
Do you have any farm stories to share? We'd love to hear them!
