If he can not and will not give you straight answers to your legitimate questions you'll have to just let it go. Trying to figure out what you might have done differently is a fool's game. Since he gave you the coward's Kiss-off you now know something valuable about his character and must console yourself with the thought that you're well out of it.

In the future, I'd suggest lkeeping your child out of a dating situation until you're sure the guy is a good friend or more.

Have let go at this point and realize that it's not my problem to solve. Honestly had never experienced anything like it as things appeared to be really great until they weren't. Very strange.

Was a valuable lesson regarding my son. I honestly thought he was to young to become attached to someone who was in and out of his life. You see he doesn't know his father at all so now I realize that he's likely looking for Daddy still : (

I agree with Rene. Do not knock yourself. I married a man after knowing him for 1-1/2 years and he was a total con artist. He wasn't honest about anything. Two years later I kicked him out. I can't believe he actually left (at least he had some decency in him). I was 44 when I married him and had been married two times before that. I kicked myself for a good year after that. How could I have been so stupid and gullible? Don't waste your energy doing that. Sometimes we learn what we do want by finding out what we don't want. You'll find the right person, just keep positive.

Thanks Ladies!!! Wow, Artsylady I married the same guy and had a son with him at 42 years of age (accidentally I might add). I left him after 3 LONG years of marriage and have never been happier. I've done a lot of healing through counciling to understand how in the world I ended up with someone like that!!! It's glorious to be free of the past and to finally be able to recognize people who are right for me. It's ok that this guy didn't think I was right of him in the end.

Oddly I got an e-mail from him last night basically saying that he doesn't have a clue what happened and that he's afraid he hasn't healed from his 19 year marriage. Whatever, I have closure know that the right guy is out there somewhere!!!

I realize today that we were attracted to each other because we were both grieving. Me, from the death of my husband a year previously, and him a nasty divorce. (Except I learned why she divorced him - she kicked him out also and they have a little girl together - what a shame for her. She's the sweetest thing.) I think there is always a method to our madness, so to speak. We can always "correct our mistake" and as long as we learn from them - no harm done!
