If you join classmates.com, you can search by school, year, name, etc. I know when I signed up, they asked me to put in my maiden name. Hope this helps!

It might help in those instances when one knows where she went to school. Oftentimes, that information is not discussed

I stumbled upon "reunion.com" one evening and registered to see who was on from my high school. I found lots of names that I remembered and I even get an email once a week or so to tell me someone is looking for me. The catch is, you have to pay a fee to join, (like a dating site) in order to contact any of the people or to find out who is searching for you. I am hoping to find someone else who has used this service to see if the "someone is searching for you" is legit. If you sign up and get the same result, please let me know. If I decide to pay, I will let you know what happens with it.

Anyway, maybe you can find your friends through that site.

You're right. It's more difficult to find women than men because they might change names. But they might not, so try the name you know. If nothing turns up, then you might try the reunion sites, classmates.com etc. If you strike out there, then try contacting people you knew in common with the woman. One of them might have contact info for her.
