Breaking up is something that should be hard to do. Humans as a species have a normal tendency to pair up, and our nature is to stay paired up. Due to complexities inherent in our less-than-perfect world, things don't always work this way...and when they don't....there's pain.

Your difficulty in breaking up is a sign that you're still alive. It's a sign that you can still bond, still commit, and still devote. I've known a fair number of promiscuous people that can dart in-and-out of intimate relationships at will, and can do so without a shred of pain. Such an ability isn't enviable....as attaining comes with a host of consequences and pretty much destroys an individuals ability to bond with another.

Curse not the hurt that comes with parting from one to whom you bonded. It doesn't mean you're weak. No....It means your still human.

I have been single for 4 years myself and you are right when saying it is hard to meet someone that you have a lot in common with. The chemistry, honesty and a faithful partner is so hard to find.

I am not giving up and we never have to settle, so let's keep the search on!

It's not easy I just went through the same thing and all I can say is thank God I never married him.

I know there has to be someone out there somewhere but at the same time I'm taking some time to discover me and who I am and what I really want.

It's hard...there are nights I lay awake staring at the ceiling feeling very alone and very afraid because I'm not getting any younger. Last night was one of those for me...of course it didn't help that the afternoon had been stressful with the ex calling and pulling his crap again making me mad. I had reached a point I don't like to reach and had he been close enough I would have beat the hell out of him I think...the only other time I got that mad was the day I kicked him out.

Thumbs up to all of you! I am currently still occuping a house wit my so to be ex-husband. After some tragities in our family over the passed 4 years.....he has now informed me he needs to be by himself. We will continue to live together in this house until we can sell it! However he does have his moments that he wants to be very close....I am having a hard time with the thought of separating alone but when he wants to be closer I just let it happen because I want him.....stupid I know....

Not stupid just a habit...trust me I know which is why my ex was here longer than he should have been but there was never any closeness for us after things went to hell. It's not easy Kelly and only you know what you can do there...just be strong.

Breaking up is never fun on any level, I've never heard of breaking up to be any fun for nobody, But from here on end you just have to take it day by day and dont rush into getting into another bad relationship, just because youre feeling lonely or sad, And remember just because you dont have anyone in your life right now and your might start to feel lonely that dont mean that you'll be a alone. Dont let those feelings over power you ok :0)
