Richard I was just thinking about this yesterday. What a darling dog you have!

I have a sticker on the front window for firemen to know my dog is inside. But if something happened to me they may be alone for days. I have a best friend that comes over every Friday night so she would notice but others would be waiting for me to call them back. I work from home so that is not an option. Let's come up with something.

I can't find the exact email that was sent to me months ago regarding something similar to this. If you carry a cell phone it was suggested you put in your contacts ICE (In Case of Emergency) as more and more rescue personnel are looking at and for this. You can put more than one but it's so they know there is someone to call just in case of some emergency. Even if it's someone that has instructions on what needs to be done or who to call for the person.

I know I need to do this...just keep forgetting to program it in that way.

Richard that is one really cute dog...I miss my baby I lost her early this year after 13 years.

Put a card in your wallet with instructions/information. I also like the sticker idea...remember those that the firemen used to give out to mark the rooms with kids in them?

I know when my neighbor almost died in his house from a bleeding ulcer, his girlfriend called the police and they came over to have one of us come with them inside when they broke the door down. I'm worried also if i was to go into a diabetic comma or something I dont have a plan for that either. I want him to be safe. Thank you Pamela, Carol and Venzmama. I adopted Harvard from a no kill shelter. He was 2 hrs. away from being euthanized then spent close to 6 months living in a barn waiting to be adopted. Heres a mini pic of him at the shelter. Hes in the top left corner.

He was left ouside in the middle of winter to die because he would not hunt. That alone almost killed him.

Poor puppy...I just don't understand how people can be so cruel not only to animals and children but to each other as well...

Glad you found the information helpful and yes please take care with the diabetic problems...I grew up in a family of diabetics so I know how dangerous it can be especially when you are alone. I have just recently been diagnosed but thank God it's not reached the point of having to be on medication and for now is being controlled by diet and exercise. Hey scared me enough I started losing weight!

If nothing else...do you have someone close by that let's say you can call and check in with on a daily basis by a certain time and if you don't they know something is wrong? That is another option to think about too.

Its a good thing you where able to get it in control. I went from nothing was wrong to being insulin dependent 10 years ago.

Im stuck now with insulin unless science and doctors can come up with something else.

So Carol- then you know when I tell you 320 is an average and sometimes weeks have passed with numbers 400-600 (off the meter)

my worries about my dog are very real.

Its hard making all new friends. My divorce was final March 14th 2007 My friends faded away over the 13 years of marriage as her friends replaced mine.

I still do have my parents but mom is going throu chemo, dad is going to be 80 and and the clock is ticking for them. They have a home in Longboat Key FL. and in Illinois. They leave when it gets cold here so most of the time they are in Florida.

Sounds like a plan to me...and yes I understand about losing friends over the years...I would be rich if I still had all the friends I had before bad marriages and relationships ran them off.

I've made a few, mostly around the job I have and an online game I play in. Some have become very good friends and after I found this place I have made even more.

I can understand the worries over the pets...mine are for my kids and my cats although the cats are more self sufficent that anyone else I think LOL. So are the kids actually but that doesn't stop one from worrying.

Just relax and have fun and the friends will come...

As for those numbers...that is way out there and shouldn't be so high but I'm sure you know that. Stress will cause them to go up too...have you talked to the doctor about the average of 320, maybe they need to look at your insulin and make some changes?
