I've heard "the rules have changed". I've heard "there are no rules". Then I've heard there is actually a book or two out there about dating called, "All The Rules". What are the rules about dating these days? It seems that when you play by the premise that there are no rules and the female makes the advances, that only goes so far, or it sends a really inappropriate message to many men. On the other hand it also seems that if you sit back and wait for Prince Charming to make the first move, you might be waiting till they put you in the grave. I do think there is a fine line between letting someone know you are interested and misreading the "he's just not that into you" signals he might be sending. Maybe it is just a question of my assertiveness and or nonassertiveness matching the right individual at the right time.
What do you all think? Are there rules? If so, what are they?
