Its gotta be Divorce,

Now a days people stay together forever and never married, Its much cheaper. Because when you tell someone that your Divorce, they tend to look at you like you have a juger on your nose. So than they say really dumb things like (aah so it didnt work out huh)?

Never married could mean bad news. How come nobody's not snapped her up already? What do others know that I don't? Is she an old maid? Even worse: is she a dreaded virgin?

Ah come on, Ive heard that everybody (males)wants to get into a virgin.

married 5 years then divorced or lived together 5 years and split up. big deal, it's the same to me. the only difference is in divorce, somebody might be making payments.

Now, that I am dating again after I became a widow, I read profiles of men on dating websites. Some profiles state that the man has 3 children and never been married. I stay away from this type of men. These men did not fulfill their responsibilities towards their children, towards the women that gave them the children. I usually look into more details, when I hear 'never married'.

There is not a better or worse. Everyone has his or her prejudices as you can see from reading the answers here. Some will expect different things from a divorcee vs. a never married person, but if they are interested enough to check you out it's unlikely to matter one way or the other.

If a person is not dating and would like to be, I'd look to other causes than their marital status.
