Why do the 1970's Disco and Rock Music era bring back so much 'great memories'?

When ever I listen to the 1970's music, it always reminds me of when I use to live in Kaneohe, Oahu in Hawaii. From June 1970 till Dec. 1978.

It brings back good memories, cause times were simple. Kids were kids you just wanted to have fun. Dancing to songs that played on your hand held radio. Bell bottoms and lip gloss,yeah those were the days! We had the good bands you could understand the meaning back then.

I came of age in the 60s, and the 70s were a big letdown for me. Everything that happened between the time the Beatles broke up and Reagan was elected is a big blur.
