Is the world warming? In my part of Alaska, we recently had one of the coldest winters in the last 20 years and our summer is one of the coolest and "slowest" of recent times, but I’m not sure that means much in the big picture of things. Still, in the context of world controversy, one wonders about underlying causes. What's the science in our understanding of climate? Below are videos from U-tube regarding global warming or global climate change, which ever politically charged language one prefers. If you are interested in the arguments on both sides you'll find these videos interesting. I prefer a scientific perspective.... my concern is the politicizing of science. Objectivity is a hallmark of the empirical process. Political policy should be driven by science rather than vice versa, but that's just me. While climate certainly seems to be in a state of flux, some believe it's not clear why, or how, or, given longitudinal data, in which direction, while others believe such clarity is obvious. We each have to weigh the evidence and come to our own conclusions.
Due to varying bandwidths and computer speeds, some of these videos' download times will take a little patience to play smoothly. Notice that, at each of these presentations, there are other links to many perspectives on the pro, cons, what to dos, what not to dos, etc., etc .... Check them out as you like.
