You know... rationally, I know that using maggots for cleaning wounds makes a lot of sense. And it's a hell of a lot better than MRSA. But you'll just have to excuse me if it still gives me the creepin' willys.

It's amazing how much we still have to learn from nature, huh?

Logically, I can see that this would work. Emotionally...I couldn't handle it.

I saw those buggers in my trash can once. Most horrific thing I've ever seen.

Sort of a primeval emotional reaction, huh? Maggots feed on dead flesh... so if they're feeding on ME, does that mean I'm dead??!! It's got a real Stephen King feel to it doesn't it?

But still, it has saved a lot of lives in certain situations.

I'd do it if I needed to. You'd have to blindfold me first, though. I don't want to look at them! The feel wouldn't freak me out, but the sight of them sure would!
