I hope this is the right place to ask. I have many questions about how light travels that never seem to get answered in books or on tv. the one that's on my mind now is how a gravitational body bends the light traveling from a source to the observer. if light from a star passes by enough other stars on it's way to our eye, wouldn't the light be bent so much that we would have no idea were that star really is? how can we be sure of the shape of the universe with all that interference out there. example: if 360 mirrors bent light 1 degree each it would come back to the source. does anyone know more about this??
