Well, I guess we'll just have to "use up" ALL fossil fuel sources before there will be enough incentive to make ANY changes. I guess people MUST be confronted with a "no alternative" situation before any change will occur. Until then, there will always be people making excuses for "Why it can't be done" anyway. Meanwhile conditions will continue to change and people will just "bitch" and say "Nothing can be Done" until there is NO OTHER CHOICE. Fossil fuel, I believe, is finite.

BTW, thre are some hints fossil fuels may be renewable. Some wells in the Gulf are refilling and no one is sure why.

Of course I read them. There just seems to be entirely too many excuses for not putting more resources behind alternative sources of energy. As far as fossil fuels being renewable? Sure, we, humans, like the dinosaurs could become "oil deposits" in millions of years. There are just too many "excuses" and not enough focus on solving problems before they become critical. There is just no more need to continue this discussion. Our philosophys differ in that I don't "believe in" the good intentions of the "powers that be" (whether they be corporate, political or religious). I believe we as individuals must be constantly vigilant and aware that published "so called facts" are more about perpetuating current philosophys and power structures rather than reaching for better solutions. It accomplishes nothing for us to discuss, as our fundamental differences preclude anything except a clash of "opinions". The whole point is looking for solutions before they reach "critical mass". Stating that anything good is 20 or more years off and we are good by "staying the course" and giving internet references which support conclusions gleaned more by opinion than optimism is just plain negative thinking and perpetuation of "same shit different day"

Global warming is well, heating up the oceans ..as that happens the methane permafrost will melt and the gas released. If enough gas is leaked, it will form ocean methane clouds. If these clouds get big enough and for some reason, God sends a lighting bolt into the cloud ....stand back for an ELE (extinct level event)...!
