Do you get teased unmercifully for the veggie fare (lentil loaf, tofurkey, etc) that you eat while they consume that hateful dead bird?
COMMENT

Yes that does happen some times. But I really enjoy eating the vegetables and sweet potatoe pie. I also have apple pie. and I eat plenty of collard greens. What about you what do you eat?
Oh' I also enjoy eating the tasty beans my husband really seasons it good. I rather have a healthy gut, than a stuff gut.(smile)
My sister is a vegetarian and some of us totally are supportive, ie, preparing lots of choices for her, and others, unfortunately, give her a hard time, teasing and such. I don't get that. I don't know why people care, really. It's her choice, her body, her life. It doesn't hurt anyone. But people do laugh about her tofurky. Pretty rotten. When that happens, I will speak up for her in admiration, which usually quiets people down. It's very annoying.
This year, I'm hosting dinner, and we are having lots of veggie stuff, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, hummus with veggies and pita, green beans, veggie stuffing as well as sausage stuffing, a wonderful couscous/asparagus/ginger salad (and turkey).
I've become a vegetarian within the past two years. I just decided that there were too many things out there that I enjoyed eating without someone killing something to put on my plate. It's a personal choice, and one I don't force on my friends and family. I still barbecue for everyone else. To your point Lise, most everyone has been very supportive, but a few have looked at me like it's either a mid-life crisis "phase" or I'm from another planet. To me it's just not a big deal. Now if you want to kill me a plate of pasta, I'm all over it. :-)
Pasta is good, I eat that also. I tried the spinach pasta it is excellent.. (smile)
Yo...let's hear it for "dead" pasta! :o)
I love, it try it you might enjoy the taste
Just a little bit. I do not eat a lot of it
