I am 43 and fairly fit. I have been exercising regularly since sometime in my mid 20's. I used to go to the gym when I was younger - mostly to attend aerobic and strength training classes. I have been working out at home for approx. the last 15 years after moving a couple of times and not being able to find instructors that motivated me to the same level. Mostly now I practice yoga with a little bit of pilates and strength training. I also enjoy walking and roller blading with my puppy dog. I have been thinking about trying to get back to the gym even just a couple days of the week for a couple of reasons. 1) to supplement my current home workouts with something new and fresh and 2) to surround myself with fit people that will help to give me added motivation. ANYWAY.... all this brings me to my question for all you super fit folks out there. I don't know why.... but I have always been somewhat intimated about going to the gym and I am wondering if the superfit folks even give us regular folks a second look. Am I stressing over nothing? It's like I feel like I need to get in better shape before I can go to the gym. Is that crazy or what? Appreciate any feedback any of you may have. Thanks!
