You have to do core strengthening exercises. A great way to compliment your workouts. Will reduce injuries, which are a killer as people get older. You'll be able to work out longer and harder for many more years than otherwise. Develop a stronger back and more stable joints. So if you're in the gym still doing bench presses and curls, you should be thinking about taking the next step. Balance training aids in all sports activities, including quickness.
Just figured I'd mention it. Haven't seen much written about it here.
