I spent 4 hours at the skin doctor today.
To have a basil cell removed.
After the doctor takes off the cancer it is tested and this procedure can be done numerous times until the cancer is gone.
Then, I needed stitches.
There was just a small amount of pain....

Awwwww! You gotsta booboo! Where is it located, if you don't mind me asking? How many stitches on your booboo?
I've had the procedure done 3x, but my cancer was squamous cell. All on my face! (I was a sun worshipper in my younger years). I also fell asleep under a home sun lamp when I was 17. I received 2nd and 3rd degree burns over about 20% of my body. Ouch! What a dummy I was!

Probably from going to the beach all my life! Wow, you really had it bad....I had very little pain today. It just took a long time. Karin

I didn't have much pain, either, so I'm glad yours was also uncomplicated. Fortunately, mine were done on 3 different occasions and under light anesthesia in an outpatient surgery center. It does take awhile for the frozen sections to be done by the pathologist and relayed back to the doctor, but it's better than having to return later when they find they did not get it all!
How many stitches?

My hubby had a basal cell removed off the side of his nose, and they took so much that he had to have plastic surgery. They almost did a skin graft from his butt! Wouldn't that be a story to tell...!
He goes every 6 months to have the squamous cell ones removed off his face, ears, arms, neck, back! He doesn't tan, he freckles and he could be better about the sun block use. I'm always on him, and he puts it on lots, but doesn't ever reapply it. Tsk Tsk. It's his pain, I tell him!

LOL! That puts a whole new meaning to "nose up your butt", huh?
My daughter is a blond, with lots of moles. Fortunately, MOST of the time she is sensible about staying out in the sun. She goes to the dermatologist every 6 months for photos and exam as prophylaxis.
