I feel sorry for men in this area. I can't imagine being judged for showing most of your natural emotions!!

I worry about this raising sons, too, because I want them to grow up to be sensitive, caring individuals; but they need to be strong and stable, too, so it's kind of a dichotomy. Plus society frowns on men crying (Or maybe I should say, other men frown on men crying---I think most women could care less!).

I've been married 15 years, and have known my husband for 24 years (We were high school sweethearts). I've seen him cry when I broke up with him after high school (we later got back together, obviously), at the birth of our kids, when his mother died in 2004, once when he lost a pediatric patient that he had to discontinue life support on, and when watching "The Notebook" (LOL!). That is a total of probably 7-10 times since 1984. . . I can't even imagine having such a hard time displaying your emotions that you only cry 10 times in 24 years!! My husband is a wonderful and caring and compassionate person in every way, but he has readily admitted to me that he is afraid to cry, because his father and society have conditioned him that way. . . How sad that society has set a standard for men where they can't feel deeply and express it without feeling castrated. I feel sorry for you guys!! I say CRY WHEN YOU NEED TO AND SCREW EVERYONE ELSE.

It takes a "real man" to be brave enough to feel. . . Look at it that way!! :)

we are just human beings with feelings,emotions and hopefully sensitivity! we cry because we are hurt or sad about events that are or have taken place. it is a natural response to the pain we feel in our daily lives. YES MEN DO AND SHOULD CRY...

If we all stuff the emotions they'll come out anyway.

Ulcers, hi blood pressure, heart attacks, palpitations.

Our body will cry for us!
