That's right!
After kicking around the idea of a TBD F2F (face to face) event with a couple of different members, I started to hear echoes of the same idea in the threads. Spuff even dreamed about a huge gathering. Something had to be done, and like the Shu thread and GITS part 3, it looked like everyone agreed on what should be done, but no one wanted to start the new thread. Fortunately for the rest of you, I'm supposed to be writing a dissertation, so I'm easily distractable. Welcome!
Due to the large number of Texans [and all varieties thereof], the proximity of an international airport (should D2 get tired of the bleating lambs and choose to join us), and the fact that I have to be there anyway that night....
GatorGal & I have settled on Houston, TX for the 1st annual TBD "Post Globally, Meet Locally" event.
The date will be Friday, March 14th. All other details will be transmitted through email, because I said so. Listen to your Mother!
This means that you need to get your email to either GG or myself!
What I'd like to see on this thread is a discussion of:
Who is in
Who must RSVP with regrets (just as important!)
ETA for IAH (our initial meeting spot)
Lodging logistics: We should get an idea of what people can afford.
I found a plush room for ~$100, and there are decent rooms to be had for less.
Roomies
Travel buddies
And of course we need to talk about all the stuff I left out.
