Having problems getting your avatar or post images to look... well, RIGHT?
I found some posts by kimvox that can make the whole process so much easier....
TBD likes only 2 kinds of images, and it is very picky about which kind you use where. Initially the most important image is your avatar, or userpic. TBD userpics must be square, with a minimum size of 160 x 160 pixels, but larger... as long as it stays a square, will work. Group heading images are 180 x 180 pixels.
For images you want to post in a thread, you must stretch your perimeters (kinda like my analogy here) and look for rectangles. Very specific ones with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Luckily for us, most cameras use this ratio, so for horizontal (landscape) images you should be ready to go. If your picture has a different aspect ratio you may want to crop your image (260 x 195 pixels min.) or adjust the canvas size.
If your image is too large, you may open it in Paint, go to the image menu and select 'Resize/Skew' [or use the command Ctrl + W] to enter the resize tool. As long as the percentages in the horizontal and vertical boxes are equal, the image will be resized without distortion.
Use Save As... just in case.
To recap, minimum image sizes:
160x160 square avatar
180x180 square group heading picture
260x195 landscape post images
