LoraMa...one of our grocery stores in town has something similar. Huge bags of cinnamon-infused pine cones. About knocks you over (not in a good way, more like an overpowering stinky perfume) when you walk in.

Wow...I think I joined the wrong group! My favorite Yankee candle...Christmas Cookie. My second favorite...Housewarming, which smells remarkably of cinnamon and spice. Sorry for the sap....is there a Martha Stewart fan club on TBD? Maybe I would fit in better there! :)

There is a definite difference between the smell of cookies baking with cinnamon in them and the cinnamon pinecones at the grocery store that make your eyes water!

Those Yankee candless smell like something you could eat--I guess that is what they want you to think!

I live on a farm where the barnyard fragrances sometimes need to be overpowered and Yankee candles are just the thing. And they come in so many "flavors"!

Why can't Yankee Candle put out barnyard fragrance candles for those of us trapped in suburbia?

"Merry Christmas sweetheat!" MWAH!

"Oh, merry Christmas darling! (sniffs) What happened?"

"Oh, it's the new series of Farmer John candles from Yankee Candle! Doesn't it smell great? This is 'incontinent chicken.'"

Ah, KenWritez, I know you only meant this to be funny, but there are those of us for whom the scent of cow manure spread on the fields in the spring is better than anything Chanel ever came up with.

I also enjoy the smell of skunk, as long as it's not on anything I own.

I was raised in a barn--literally. My family was in the dairy business and so as a tot I was exposed to the freshest, moistest, most aromatic of large animal manure. To this day I drive past a feedlot and a flood of memories surge past my feet like a manure tank flush-out.

Now, while chicken manure is among the most odiferous, and skunk is certainly one of your Top Three Desert Island Smells, I beg to offer you a snootful of Decomposing Dead Cow in Summer.

I think that scent best filed under "Crowd Control (Semi-Lethal)."

A few years ago when we visited my mother at Thanksgiving, we went into the room we were sleeping in to be greeted by the unmistakable stench of something decomposing. Turns out a squirrel had died in the wall, and since the house is over 150 years old with horsehair plaster walls, there was no way to get at it.

We were lucky, though -- it had been decomposing for months, so it could have been much worse.
