I know this site is hosted by a doctor and I know the medical establishment is generally skeptical, but divided on this issue, BUT is anyone else tempted to return to the Low carb diet after Gary Taubes' recent reanalysis of the data?
I am embarrassed to admit that I'm back on the low carb diet, because
it intellectually goes against everything I was ever taught about nutrition, but it is the only diet that has ever really worked for me. With age onset weight gain, I felt I had to do something and I hope to take it slow and gradual and then work more and more vegetable carbs into my diet as I go along - but I do have to say that it is the only diet I've ever undertaken that doesn't leave me hungry.
Taubes, by the way, says this is an old idea and at the turn of the century doctors thought that too much rice, potato and bread was the cause of weight gain.
