I'm 10 hours ahead of you guys in Calif and Oregon, so I am ready to report for Wed. Can someone move this when the Wed posting place goes up? THANKS!
FIrst, my demon and my angel will be the same for the next few weeks. We're in Jerusalem which we love. Good news is that we don't have a car when we're here, so we walk everywhere. There is a reason why the biblical expression is to "go up to Jerusalem." It is very hilly. Walking around here is better than any aerobics class I've ever taken. OTOH, we eat out a lot when we're here which can be dangerous. It is hard to find non fat milk even in the markets (the best I can do is 1% in the store and whole milk in restaurants and cafes). Everything is cooked with more oil - although it is mostly olive oil. There are tons of kosher restaurants which means we can eat meat out, so we eat more meat when we're here. But the salads are fabulous and they put out chopped salad along with your pita and hummus like they put out bread and butter or oil in the US. I try to fill up on salads. So we'll see.
WEDNESDAY
liquid: 16 oz fresh pomogranate juice (Dr. Robin, need your opinion here as this is the season for this - is it OK or should I restrict myself?), 40 oz water (with probably another 16-20 oz before I'm done for the day), 3 cups decaf coffee with low fat milk.
bkfst: veggie omelette, multi grain bread, citrus salad
lunch: chopped salad, eggplant salad, pita, hummus
snack: orange
dinner: We're on our way out to run some errands and visit some friends in Tel Aviv. We've got reservations at our favorite fish restaurant, so I'll probably have salad, pita, hummus, steamed veggies, and St. Peter's Fish (not sure what the US equivalent is). And maybe a glass of wine. I will skip desert (I promise).
For those who are just waking up - hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
